James L. Geiswite

1929 - 2018

James L. Geiswite, 88, of Milton passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at his home.

Born in White Springs on October 30, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles and Irma Elizabeth (Goodman) Geiswite.  He was married to the former Charlotte “Rose” Fisher until her death in 2001.

James was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School and had served in the US Army in Germany, Italy and Austria.  He had worked for the PA Game Commission as a land manager and for ACF in Milton for 27 years retiring in 1994.

He was a member of the Northumberland County Historical Society, the Snyder County Historical Society, and the Beavertown Historical Society.  He was also a Boy Scout leader and Deputy Game Warden.

James is survived by a son James E. Geiswite and his wife Erin of Milton; four grandchildren Joshua L. Geiswite, Samantha R. Geiswite and her companion Matthew Drowser, Madilynn B. Geiswite and Kathryn E. Geiswite; three step grandchildren Tyler Houser, Allison Ziants and Christopher Ziants; four step great grandchildren Ryleigh, Emaleigh, Jace, and Lynlee and a sister Margie Bridge of Mifflinburg.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers Calvin Geiswite and Glen Geiswite.

Friends and relatives will be received on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the Shaw Funeral Home 400 N. Front St. Milton.  The memorial service will begin at 4:00 with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating.

Memorial contributions in may be made to the Hospice of Evangelical 1 Hospital Dr. Lewisburg, PA 17837.
